Clearway Energy Group is a leading American multi-technology energy company. As the largest wind energy company in West Virginia, we have 995 megawatts of wind farms in our portfolio and project pipeline, enough to power 460,000 homes. Our projects are furthering West Virginia's long legacy as a leader in American energy, creating jobs and helping make the grid stronger and more reliable.
By investing in wind farms, we invest in the Mountain State. Its workforce, economy, regional tax base and local communities all stand to benefit from this expansion in West Virginia’s energy portfolio.
In the communities where we operate, Clearway ranks as one of the highest taxpayers. Over the lifetime of our portfolio, we can expect to contribute more than $9 million in combined state and local taxes to West Virginia each year. We have also fostered more than 80 long-term community partnerships with local nonprofits, educational institutions and organizations, pledging $10 million in community funds to date.
Each new wind farm provides an opportunity to enhance a new community, and we look forward to finding even more ways to give back.
WorkForce Training
Our wind technician pilot apprenticeship program offers paid training to workers transitioning out of the coal industry and an opportunity to start a rewarding career in renewable energy.
Through ongoing community partnerships, we can give back to our wind farm communities and create opportunities to enhance local infrastructure, provide new programming and form educational partnerships.
